Howdy!
I've been wanting to write a journal for about a week now, but lazyness and work took over so..

Ok, here's what. About a week and a half ago, I got a totally unexpected call from an english couple saying they had seen my website and liked it very much. They were looking for a photographer that would take some photos of their restaurant in Amoreira (Óbidos, Portugal) for a website they will be creating.
Apparently, they've searched for "professional photographers in Caldas da Rainha" (or sometinhg alike) in Google, and my website came up somehow. (I was very much surprised by this

).
They said that even though I'm not a professional, they would really like to commission me for the job, since they really liked my photos.
I said ok, why not! Let's give it a try. It's a new experience.
I went there last Friday to see the place, know the people, and more details about what they wanted. My friend ~
Casper-D, who is studying Graphic Design, went with me and turns out he will be creating the website for the restaurant.
Anyway, I took some day shots inside and outside. Then I came back Monday to take some shot with night ambient, sice at night there are candles and a different, mystic, ambient.
They also want a shot of Amoreira village to hang on the wall of the restaurant. And this is turning out to be the most challenging part for me, because there really isn't anything very interesting in the village and also because I'll have to make a picture that will look good on a A0 print size. But, ehe, I'll come up with something!
Also, they said that when everything is finished (website included, I think), they wanted to make an opening night, where it will be cool to have some of my works exposed.
So things are looking good so far. I'm almost done with the restaurant shots, there's just a little photoshop work left but the main Lightroom work is done. Next I'm going to start playing around with the village shots to see what I can come up with.
Don't worry, when everything is done, website launched and all, I'll post a couple of pictures here.
The restaurant is called Brazingamans, so if you're in the area go have a meal. It's a cool place, with nice food from all around the Europe. It opens at 6h pm, so only dinners.
Ookaay..
In other news, I've bought a Circular Polarizer! Cheap stuff, 20 at
Niobo.ptI didn't want to spend too much money, so I bought a Soligor one.
Works cool, and it's proven very handy in some shots at the restaurant

Also, as you might not recall, I was taking my driving license. Well, I passed the driving exam in February 9th! So congrats to me.

Oh, almost forgot, it seems that the company I work for is going on Lay-Off in April. We're already not working at Fridays, and if they renew my contract (Which I really doubt, and hope not) I'll have another free day. Possibly a Thursday or Monday, and earning 33,3% less.
Yeah.. it's the crisis!
Well, that's all for now people. Let's move on to some features, shall we?
Cheers
